Inspection Rounds using Mainsaver Connect for Tablet Based Data Collection
Challenge:
Many enterprises utilize paper checklists to record operating parameters on a shift, daily or other regular interval. Data recorded on paper has to be transcribed from paper to a spreadsheet which is time consuming and open to transcription errors. Mainsaver Core 12.8 coupled with Mainsaver Connect allows users to create Inspection Rounds routes and record data from a table directly to the database.
Inspection routes allow for checking devices or recording values for multiple assets within one work order. Each route may be composed of multiple procedures per asset or more efficiently, a ‘job plan’ made up of pre-created procedure may be added to a route point. Each procedure on each asset may be scheduled individually allowing for infinite flexibility. Condition Based Monitoring techniques may be employed to create work orders or work requests based on out of tolerance results.
Methodology:
1. Setup individual procedures and job plans in Mainsaver Core:
There are four types of inspection procedures:
a. Number (numeric value between 2 control limits)
b- Checkbox (shows compliance to procedure)
c- Yes/No – Radio Buttons for Yes or No
d- Directive – Instruction only:
Yes/No Type Input
Checkbox Type Input
Numeric Type Input
A ‘Job Plan’ is a group of procedures performed togther which may be added to a route asset point easily.
2. Setup Routes in Mainsaver Core Setup an inspection round route similar to any other route in Mainsaver.
3. Generate Routes in Mainsaver Core The route scheduling tool allows intervals of nearly any type within one route.
4. Complete Route Inspection in Mainsaver Connect Route results are recorded using Mainsaver Connect. Alert Conditions may be configured to auto generate a work order or work request to address the condition.
Benefit:
Inspection Rounds provides a facility in Mainsaver to record condition and other data using mobile technologies.
